Artist's Comments

A note to the viewer, before unleashing another lorenado:
To those who were expecting another succubus: HA! Anyway, I said I would do Balthazar first he? Well, I found him just too boring a subject, so I'll leave him till later.

I'm not very familliar with drawing a masculin physique, so this was a nice chance to broaden my horizon a bit.

Lore: Abaddon is a fallen God. Previously he was the God of Water and Knowledge; currently, only a select group of Kournans (a military dictatorship on the Elonian continent) and the Order of Whispers are aware of His existence, of which the latter refere to him as the Lord of Secrets. Apperantly, Dhuum, former God of Death, Menzies, Lord of Destruction, half-brother to Balthazar (NOT to be confused with Baäl, Lord of Destruction, brother to Diablo and Mephisto, Lords of Terror and Hatred respectively) and the Titans have joined forces with Him.

At the end of the creation of Tyria, the Gods bestowed the gift of Magic upon all beings; Abaddon acted as the God's representative and gave Tyria's creatures magic.

Eventually, magic awakened much envy and greed within the creatures of Tyria, resulting in massive, all out wars. Eventually, the Gods were called to take back their gift, but Abaddon opposed the idea.

It came to a fight; Abaddon, though powerful, was defeated and cast down. After his defeat, he was chained up in one of the most remote corners of the Realm of Torment and his name was stricken from every record and memory. (Oddly enough, the caldera of the largest vulcano on the Ring of Fire island chain is called Abaddon's mouth, seems like the Gods are a bit slacking)

At the end of the Nightfall Campaign, Abaddon is truly destroyed, and his might and knowledge is used to bring forth a new God, Kormir, Goddess of Truth.

Notable Devotees:

Of the humans, only Varesh Ossa, current warmarshal of Kourna and the militairy top revere Abaddon.
His most important devotees are the Margonites, a once-seafaring-people-turned-demon, who resemble his image and carry his will out upon the mortal world.

Other Gods:

Next one (likely) up will be Dwayna, Goddess of Life.
